Today Preston woke up with a swollen eye. Apparently when his dad asked about it he said his head and back itched too. I didn’t know his back itched until about 5 hours later. He said “mom I need a back scratcher because my back really itches.” So I had him lift up his shirt and was horrified to see that his back was covered in hives. I immediately gave him a dose of Benedryl and rubbed some Benedryl cream on his back. After about an hour the welts started to go down. It’s a mystery. Corey and I have no idea what caused this reaction. He hasn’t had anything new to eat and his soap is the same. I just hope it doesn’t happen again. I’ll have to pay closer attention to what he eats I guess.

Preston Turns 7
Posted onI can’t believe it this past week Preston turned 7. We didn’t have much planned because Corey was gone to Alabama. The cake isn’t even anything to look at. We went to IHOP and had Preston’s favorite (pancakes of course). He got to bring a friend a long. Her name is Morgan. We had fun. As the pictures show preston really liked the present Nami and Nampa gave him. Also in the one with Preston holding his hand over Levi’s mouth he was just trying to stop Levi from blowing out the candles.
Car ride to Grants Pass
Posted onThe car ride to and from Grants pass was long. We got a DVD player for the car for Christmas. This trip was the test to see if it was worth it. It was great. It kept the kids occupied and us sane. Well worth it. Also we would stop and make sandwhiches to eat for lunch. Unfortunately it was most of the time to cold to eat outside so we stayed in the car. I usually ended up with Sophia on my lap playing with the stearing wheel. She loved it but what kid doesn’t?
Snow?
Posted onOkay yesterday we woke up to the ground coverd in snow. Not surprising for this area but a little depressing. Spring just isn’t coming soon enough. Still no blossoms on the trees and tulips are just now coming out of the ground. Well my 3 year old loves the snow. This past Christmas he asked Santa for snow. It snowed a ton. So everytime it snows he thinks that he was some how responsible. Very cute. Well yesterday he was pretty excited to see the snow on the ground. By the end of the day it had all melted. We were sitting at the dinner table just enjoying our meal and he suddenly turns around looks out the window and puts both fist in the air and says “OHHHH my snow is ruined!!” He then turns around and puts his head on the table like it is the end of the world. Corey and I just looked at each other and started to laugh. I wish I had had the camera ready but no luck. So sometimes snow isn’t all bad. We just need to look at it through a three year olds eyes.
My little genius
Posted onPreston came up to me today and said “Mom guess what the bus stops in front of our house now” I asked “well how did you manage that?” One day this week he went outside to walk the 2 blocks to the bus stop just as the bus was driving past our house and the bus driver stopped the bus for him and asked if he wanted to get on. The next day he watched the clock and timed himself to leave at the same time so that he would get out there when the bus drove by. She stopped again and let him on. The bus driver told him that he could get on there from now on. So now there is a bus stop right in front of my house in the mornings and Preston doesn’t have to walk in the freezing cold for 2 blocks and stand and wait for 10 minutes for the bus. It amazes me what he comes up with.
My Children
Posted onPreston’s first day of first grade
Posted onPreston has been very excited to start first grade. When the day finally came he was all to eager to get out the door. I had to chase him down so I could get a hug from him. He had his friend’s mom take him to school and then he rode the bus home. His teachers name is Mrs. Edgett. He said that he really likes her and she is funny. I was more worried about the first day of school than he was. Everything went off without a hitch until the ride home on the bus. He was put on the wrong bus. So he wasn’t at the stop he was supposed to be at. I had to walk to another bus stop to find him. He was just standing there waiting for me. I thought he might be scared and start crying but he didn’t have any trouble.
